Arsenal's 24-year-old player prioritizes the team amidst discussions of his departure.

Eddie Nketiah emphasizes prioritizing the team's interests despite feeling disappointed about his limited starting opportunities for Arsenal this season.

Arsenal forward Eddie Nketiah has been on the field frequently this season, featuring in 37 matches across all competitions. However, the sheer number of appearances doesn't fully convey the complete picture.

Regarding starting appearances, Nketiah has only begun 13 times, with none of those starts occurring in 2024. The 24-year-old's most recent inclusion in the Arsenal starting lineup was away to Fulham on December 31st, 2023, marking one of merely four occasions he's played the entire 90 minutes of a match this season.

Discussing his circumstances, Nketiah conceded his desire for increased playing time, yet underscored his commitment to prioritizing the team's needs.

"In the latter part of the season, I haven't been afforded the starting opportunities I ideally seek. However, such occurrences are part of the game, and with the team performing admirably, I've willingly embraced a different role," remarked Nketiah.

'That's the nature of football; circumstances can shift rapidly. Nevertheless, I believe it's been a season to take pride in, and I'm determined to continue improving,'" remarked the player.

"All the experiences I've encountered this season will undoubtedly serve as valuable lessons for my future development," he remarked confidently.

Last week on The Athletic FC Podcast, David Ornstein hinted that Nketiah's prospects at Arsenal could be up in the air.

"Eddie Nketiah's playing time speaks volumes," Ornstein remarked. "Perhaps Mikel Arteta and Arsenal don't envision him in their future plans."

"Some clubs or managers might then field them to showcase their talents. Yet another significant contract inked."

"I'm aware that there are clubs interested in him as well, but ultimately, he'll have choices to weigh alongside Arsenal."

If Nketiah continues to see limited playing time, he could be considering a summer departure. Meanwhile, he'll be eager to maximize every opportunity on the field to aid Arsenal in their quest for a Premier League title.
